Taco Punk becomes Slugger Field vendor on beer night Thurs!

by Robin Garr » Tue May 06, 2014 5:14 pm

From Gabe:

Taco Punk is now an official vendor at Louisville Bats Slugger Field. On May 8 and 22 (and for the rest of the season) TP will be vending our tasty tacos for Thirsty Thursday $1 beer nights. We will be giving out special coupons and freebies at our kiosk by third base throughout the game.

Had some seats last night thanks to a buddy and his company, we wandered down and got a couple tacos from the stand. Their sign needs a little more visibility, but it was relatively simple enough to find. Tacos were pretty tasty, going for the chicken mole, the chorizo/potato and the black bean on our orders.

All in all it's a pretty solid addition to the ballpark

(and the bats won on a bottom of the ninth grand slam which was pretty cool too)

How did the prices compare to TP's normal prices? I expect to pay some premium at the ballpark, but I'm hoping it's not too much higher.

Four bucks per taco, or two for seven.

Oh dear; Thirsty Thursday Dollar Drafts. I'm happy for Taco Punk, but it's too bad it must accompany Slugger Field Unimaginative Swill Hour. Talk about a mixed message.

We attended a Bats game on a recent Thursday, but Taco Punk was no where to be found. So as per Facebook communication, they clarified that "they are scheduled to be there on the 2nd and last Thursday of each month this summer." :D
