There hasn't been a bit of construction work done in the space where they were planning to go in. If I had to guess, they made their plans without knowing that Brazeiros was going into the Starks/4th St Live space, and when Brazeiros opened first, they either canceled their plans or decided to pull back and rethink.

Their website clearly indicates that they are opening in 2014. I went by there on Derby weekend. It looks like the space is all boxed off and ready to be filled in. The décor is brilliant! My guess is that they will not open until perhaps the fall. In any case, if not them then someone will surely nab that coveted space.

Any updates on this place? Their website pulled the Louisville location a while back. Is there any other activity there? It seems like such a prime location, although probably very expensive, as well.

James, can you peek in and see if it looks as if anything has changed since your May 6 post?

I'll try to query them on "food writer stationery," but you know how that goes ...

Robin,
I was by there about 10 days ago--nothing happening. I just can't imagine the hotel opening with that space empty. Maybe we'll get lucky and land an upscale Thai or Malay restaurant there. That would sure fill a void.

Didn't I read somewhere that there were problems with the Embassy Suites that was due to come in there? If so, that could cancel the restaurants (or at least significantly delay it/them).

Embassy Suites is definitely under construction now and will be opening sometime next year. I only know this because the HVAC company that my husband works for has that job and they are currently working on it...
