More local BBQ

We had errands so hit the LAC in J-town and on leaving we saw across the street a new place called FDKY BBQ that appears in the works but maybe near opening judging by the makeover of the building. It's where the schizo Mexican place was that for five years or so couldn't decide if it was El Tarasco or Los Aztecas and had signs for both. The debate is over and apparently it will be a BBQ place! Did a couple of clicks and the name associated with it may be the fellow who ran Bruce's Smokehouse on Watterson Trail for a couple of years till about 2010. Anybody know more?

On the Sunny Side a venture called Shawn's Southern BBQ has opened at the original Pigasus spot at 822 State St. in New Albany. We don't get back to our old area much anymore but it appears to have started up two or three months ago. Anyone tried it?

April 20th is the last update- with a close up picture of a bbq sandwich! Still no specific date given.

From a comment on the Facebook page, Bruce Loeffler is the owner, and he's been in the business before, so it sounds like Bruce's Smokehouse was his.
