Post Kentucky Derby and Derby week events here ...

by Robin Garr » Tue Apr 15, 2014 6:00 pm

Usual rules apply: Commercial posts are pre-approved for this topic, but please delete PR hype and overly enthusiastic PR-style superlatives before you post. Also, don't forget to change the Subject: line to incorporate the name of the restaurant. Thanks!

by Robin Garr » Mon Apr 21, 2014 4:53 pm

Varanese Restaurant will host the "28th Annual Billy's Burger Bash" on Derby Day - Saturday, May 3 - from 11 pm to the wee hours of Sunday, May 4. The party, which is named for Emmy-winning freelance field producer for NBC's Kentucky Derby coverage Billy Rapaport, is open to anyone who has energy left after a long day of celebrating the 140th running of the Kentucky Derby.

The free event will include live entertainment from Lamont Gillispie and 100 Proof, dancing, drink specials, and a simple, late night menu of appetizers, bar bites, burgers, fries.

For more information call 899-9904, email letsdine@varanese.com, or visit http://www.varanese.com.

Rapaport is a two time Emmy award winner and has been an independent producer and director for over twenty years. He is a feature producer for NBC's figure skating, horse racing and gymnastics coverage. He has also helped to produce several theatrical efforts including "Grace and Glorie" and the Off-Broadway hit "Other People's Money." For more information, visit http://www.billyrapaport.com.

Barely. Driving to a client's home yesterday at 5 PM I saw no fewer than 6 cop car stops. Driving home around midnight no cops but some of the drunkest drivers ever on 71. Jeez I was glad to get home alive.
