Checking out Frankfort Avenue changes in the rain

Okay, we wandered along Frankfort Avenue in the drizzle this afternoon to see how all the work was coming, and both Mike Mays at Heine's and John Johnson at The Wine Rack spilled the beans: A short-order diner, serving breakfast and lunch, will go into the former Fat Jimmy's. "Eggs Over Frankfort Ave"? Maybe ....

Meanwhile, Heine's is looking sharp with fresh new paint, and Mike said the entire espresso bar section will be remade using old wood. He promises to maintain "the hippie look," however.

And down the block, we didn't see any workers, but Darkstar appears to be getting a VERY thorough scrubbing as the new BBC-run gastro=brewpub starts getting it ready to move in.
