Welcome to the Louisville Restaurants Forum, a civil place for the intelligent discussion of the local restaurant scene and just about any other topic related to food and drink in and around Louisville.
I went here the other day and got some pastries -- one beef, one potato. The baker heated them up in the oven, and they were very nice. The owner said they bake 10,000 pitas an hour and I'm pretty sure they use them at Jerusalem Cafe. The pita are thinner and have a larger diameter than the ones at Al Watan, but they're really great. Really like this place.
Dino's the real deal. I went yesterday to check out the halal meat selection for a client. A little more expensive then some of the other places I've been, but it's hands down the cleanest, well stocked and friendliest I've found. Honestly some of the other places are kinda scary. One place had one room full of chest freezers with no signs. Your just supposed to look in and try to figure out what kind of meat's in there.
Dino is the butcher. I ended up getting 6 # of ground beef and 3 whole chickens from him. He ground the meat right in front of me. This really is a awesome place.
At first glance I thought the Arabic LED sign was advertising something at O'Reilly's Auto Parts, then I realized Dino's must be in that complex. I'll stop in there this week.
They are now doing traditional near eastern deserts, including kenafeh. Some nice pictures on the facebook page. I have yet to visit but it's on my list.
If you haven't been, you should go. This place is the truth and the Levant-style pita with the pomegranate sauce is phenomenal. There's also really cheap prices on fun export candy, and when I went, I had no problem finding an English speaker to help me out.

A very hidden place in the shopping center behind Oreilleys. People are very friendly. Probably because of the location it seems that very few people are in the place at the times I have been there. Worth the time to go.
