BBC-run Brewhouse to replace Dark Star on Frankfort

by Robin Garr » Wed Mar 26, 2014 5:26 pm

Or so I hear from their next-door neighbor, John at The Wine Rack, who's very excited about the prospect of the BBC folks putting a six-figure investment and sweat equity into the old Dark Star to make it into something quite a bit more inviting and (my words, not John's) a better fit for the neighborhood. They're evidently talking about a significant rehab and re-do, quality brewpub fare, an extensive beer program with smaller but quality wine and liquor offerings, and so on. No timeline, but it's apparently happening.

I spoke with someone in the know and was told this will be more of a restaurant. They plan on having @50 taps, local and other beers too. It will be different than any existing BBC.

Wow...that's great news. Even though I live a couple blocks away I have never been to Dark Star (always felt like I was about 30-40 years too old for their demographic), but I would certainly patronize a nice brewpub.
