New BBQ eatery on Bishop Lane

by Robin Garr » Wed Mar 26, 2014 2:38 pm

If I'm reading this news release correctly, it's local, a guy who's gone from competition barbecue to catering and now a BBQ joint.

Rob-a-Que Gourmet Smoked Foods is proud to announce the grand opening of Rob-a-Que BBQ Restaurant at 10:30am on Monday, March 31. The new restaurant is located at 4214 Bishop Lane in the former Subway location across the street from the Vanhoose Education Center. In honor of the opening, Rob-a-Que will donate 2% of gross sales during the month of April to OBR (Operation BQQ Relief), a disaster relief organization.

Rob-a-Que BBQ Restaurant will offer quick service wherein customers will make their selections of meats and sides as they advance along the service line.

The menu will feature a wide range of smoked meats including Pulled Pork, Pulled Chicken, Chicken Salad, Wings, Sliced Brisket, Ribs, Boneless Ribs, and Meat Loaf.

All menu items will be offered ala carte and as combo meals including a drink. Homemade sides include Sausage Baked beans, Country Green beans, Smoked Corn, Cheesy Hash Browns, Mac & Cheese, Slaw & Potato Salad as well as Brisket Chili and Chicken Noodle Soup.

Hours of operations will be Monday through Saturday 10:30am to 7:30pm. For more information, please call (502) 618-3007 or visit www.robaque.com.

About Rob-a-Que BBQ Restaurant
Rob-a-Que was started by Rob Bailey in 2011 as a Professional BBQ Competition Team and later began catering after leaving his family business of 29 years.

In September of 2012, Rob leased a building at 4712 Pinewood and built out a full catering kitchen and in March of 2013 started offering carry-out lunches.

With the opening of the new Rob-a-Que BBQ Restaurant, the Pinewood location will stop serving lunches, but will operate as a commissary and catering facility.

Looks good. Certainly worth a try. Prices seem reasonable.

Rob A Cue has been open for a while in their commercial kitchen space off Robards. They were a carry-out only lunch only spot but continued to expand with eventual seating, etc. Mr. S. Eats there about every ten days and is partial to their brisket chile, the pulled pork and fresh smoked chicken wings. He went today and knew they would be soon taking over the former subway location at the end of bishop right off Newburg.

My office also orders about once every 6-8 weeks. Everything is fresh and we have no complaints. If you are planning on a big lunch order call ahead and they will have everything labeled and ready for you! Enjoy! Lora
