Everyone is invited to join Chef Paula Shoyer for a Passover dessert baking demonstration featuring wine tasting, light appetizers and a dessert reception, at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, April 10, at The Wine Studio @ 610 Magnolia, 621 W. Magnolia Ave.

Shoyer is a pastry chef who owns and operates Paula’s Parisian Pastries Cooking School in the Washington, D.C. area, where she teaches classes in French pastry and Jewish cooking. She is the author of The Kosher Baker: 160 dairy-free desserts from traditional to trendy and the editor of two Kosher cookbooks: Kosher by Design Entertains and Kosher by Design Kids in the Kitchen. She has appeared on Food Network’s Sweet Genius, Daytime and Martha Stewart Living.

Tickets are $36 per person and $18 for ages 29 and under. Space is limited. RSVP by April 4 to Kristy Benefield at kbenefield@jewishlouisville.org or 238-2739.

The event is hosted by the Jewish Federation Women’s Philanthropy Division and the Uniquely Jewish Event Series. When the Jewish Federation of Louisville began planning the Uniquely Jewish Event Series, the idea was to offer a wide variety of experiences that aren’t necessarily what you’d expect to find at an event sponsored by a Jewish organization and offer a Jewish connection.

Jewish Federation of Louisville is the resource development division of the Jewish Community of Louisville. It ensures the strength of the community through the Annual Federation Campaign, the Jewish Foundation of Louisville, leadership development and community planning. Funds raised support constituent agencies: Jewish Family & Career Services, Jewish educational agencies and programs, the Vaad Hakashruth, as well as programs and services the JCL itself delivers such as the Jewish Community Center, Jewish Foundation of Louisville, Hillel – the Jewish center serving Louisville-area college students, Jewish Community Relations Council and Community – the Jewish newspaper.
