This was a pretty common issue back in my days working at Shoney's (and its alter ego Danner's). The worst was the folding card that said "Your Tip" on the outside with a Bible verse on the inside. Occasionally there was money included, but more often it was just the card. It was also expected that the offending party would run the server ragged during the meal.
Equally as dreaded was the Wednesday night post-church rush.

Sorry, I had to remove the apostrophe. It's been bothering me all week.

This is kind of funny. Many, many years ago when I was a server, most restaurants weren't open Sunday, and Friday night (payday!) was the worst. Lots of families who rarely ate out.
