PR: Highlands VIP Card offers discounts

by Robin Garr » Thu Dec 06, 2007 6:57 pm

Press Release (unedited):

Highlands VIP Membership Card Now Available

The Highlands VIP membership card is now available in various retail establishments in and around the Highlands and online at http://www.HighlandsVIP.com. The program, brainchild of Rick Goldberg and Bob Glaser—both longtime residents of the Highlands, rewards local residents for supporting participating stores in the area. “It just seemed like a good way to encourage people to support the Highlands and benefit from it.” Goldberg stated, “Everybody wins.”

For a $20 fee, cardholders can receive multiple use discounts at over 100 Highlands businesses all year long. Some of the participants include: Avalon, Wick’s Pizza Parlor, Molly Malone’s, McDonalds, ear-x-tacy, Kizito Cookies, Clay & Cotton, ValuMarket and the Swanson Reed Galleries. All participating stores have signage and window clings supporting their participation of the program. So, next time you are out shopping or dining in the Highlands…look for the “Highlands VIP Membership Cards Proudly Accepted Here” signs.

A website supports the cards and is constantly updated with new offerings and coupons to members. Online, registered cardholders are entered to win weekly drawings for Highland’s area specific prizes.

Over 50 of the 100+ participating businesses are also selling the Highlands VIP Membership Cards, or you can securely purchase one using your credit/debit card or PayPal at:
http://www.highlandsvip.com

For more information and a complete list of businesses and the details of their offers, go to:

Hi, Robin. This sounds interesting as I always like to save a buck, but what do you get for the $20? I checked their site, but no info is listed other than the participants. Seems like they would want you to know what you are buying.

Good question, Mark ... as noted, I just passed along an unedited press release (noted as such) because it looked like it offered restaurant discounts. Caveat emptor, and all that ... but if anyone has more info on Highlands VIP, I hope they'll jump in!

On the website Robin listed, go to the "Participating Companies", then you can click on each company and get a small pop-up box detailing what that company is offering.

According to the website - http://www.highlandsvip.com - the card is only $15 when purchased online now until December 31.

Gotta love the end of the year specials - if you didn't blow all your Christmas budget yet.
