Hey Jeremy, While you may not agree with Robert, you don't need to be rude.

Mitchell's Seafood gets my nod for chains.

Wings -

For what it's worth, I like BW3s for wings and beer and sports. I just wish they would get better beer. Sierra Nevada is my staple there. A few micros would go a long way...

Does China Grill, Nobu or Chinois on Main qualify as a chain?

Is that the place in the former Baja Fresh building? Been meaning to try it.

Ok...I tried to be polite, I tried to be terse but fair...he doesn't get it, I'm starting to think he can't read...I'm happy to be rude at this point. He has made absolutely zero effort to even remotely understand my friendly and very reasonable point of view. Eff that.

I'm tired of going out of my way to try and explain the essence of a point when all he wants to do is start sh*t up. (sorry about the language, but really) If he wanted an actual discussion he would have bothered to respond to one of our actual points instead of posting more provocative crap that didn't even take into account even reading anything we said!

Robert, I'm one of your biggest fans, you are "The Lone Voice" that speaks up For CHAIN FOOD. However, you make it hard to defend your point when you REALLY don't add anything constructive to the conversation...

Have you read some of the things you have posted here?!

I enjoy my fast food, fast casual, or whatever dining experience that is out there. I believe that I have made myself clear on more than one occasion about this..

With this in mind, Why do you defend these chain places (that most of us freely admit to eating at) with such zeal, and refer to most local restaurants with vigorous animosity?

What problem do you have with the "Local Establishment VS. The Chains"
Can you spell it out Please!!!!!!

There is nothing wrong with being the voice of dissension as long as you have an opinion based upon fact to back it up!!!

Spirited debate

by Tony P. » Sat Dec 08, 2007 9:28 am

To become a chain one must make sure that it is strong, or it will break. I have spent that past nine years building boombozz diligently with great people and passion. Of course there have been a few ups and downs, but it has been the loyalty from our guests and staff that "if" we become a chain, it will be because of the hard work and dedication of the ones who are counting on me. I am honored that Boombozz is part of such a spirited debate

That is great...I have no problem if you become a chain....it is just that some people automatically chastize a place for being a chain... It like i alwyas say...If the food is good the people will come back...Chain or local....the bottom line is in your tummy...happy back not happy not back... :D

What??? there used to be a baja fresh in Louisville and it closed? I was just telling my husband this weekend that the city needs a baja fresh. that was one of my favorite chains in southern california. The black salsa on the salsa bar was outstanding.

it's so nice to hear that other people hate Olive Garden. I have been trying to figure out the popularity of that place for 15 years. I've eaten there exactly twice, when friends have insisted, and it's the absolute worst food ever.

I did like macaroni grill in california for a fast dinner out on the run. I like their arriabiata sauce on penne pasta with fresh mozzarella. but the one here in louisville was a disappointment. we went once, and the menus were raggedy and the floors were filthy and we were eating around 8:30 p.m., so the employees felt that it was clean-up time and they were emptying the trash and carrying huge trash bags right past our table. it was disgusting. we won't ever go back. (which will make my husband happy. he hated the place despite my love of that one sauce. everything else on the menu was too salty.)

other chains I like...cheesecake factory. and white castle. :)

Compared to Q-doba we thought Baja Fresh was pretty weak. The flavors were not even close to being as good...I think that's why it closed so quickly--it just couldn't compete with Q's tastes (especially the salsas).

I think we have established that this is not true. People chastize chains that serve mediocre food. It's just that most chains seem to serve mediocre food.
