Having cannolli's shipped in from New York - do we have an Italian style bakery in this market?

Neil - I'm Italian and from the East Coast, so I know what you are looking for! I've not found anything like it nearby so I usually just bake it all myself. I'll PM you with more details.

Fresh Market has Cannolis,

Whole foods also has them. If you are going to ship them in... you might as well go to these places to get your fix.

They get them shipped in too.

You can always have fun and experiment by making your own. It's easy
Cannolis shells are available in the box at those establishments as well as William -Sonoma, Lotsa Pasta, and I believe Meijer.
By the way..... who are you shipping from?

Venieros? Ferrara?

The forum's own C. Devlin of The Village Bakery in Salem, IN http://www.thevillagebakeryonline.com makes an Italian ricotta tart, Anise Biscotti and Cantuccini di Prato from scratch.

Gayle thanks for the info.... I did not know that.
Guess I need to pay closer attention to who is doing what here.

I bet she would be happy to make cannolis!

The tart sounds delish, and feel that is a must try!!!

Just looked at the website!

Now I remember, Colleen and I had previous conversations about breads for Meridian. Our conversation kind of fell off somehow. (we are all busy little bees)

I think a road trip to Salem is in order for that (and others) tart!!!

Let me know if there is an interest, I can fit three more in my car!!

The Devlins deliver to Louisville. Not every day, I don't think, but on a regular basis. And their breads are fab-u-lous!

Canoli are much better with homemade shells. They are not hard to make. You just need to get the metal tubes to form them around when frying.

La Guli on Ditmars Boulevard in Astoria, Queens.

Oh, in Louisville? Nope! I wonder if Melillo's would ever have something like that.

I've tried the cannolis from both Whole Foods and Fresh Market... Whole Foods were garbage compared to the real thing... Fresh Market's were a tad better, but still far from a "Real cannoli" The closest place I have found for real cannolis in this area is St. Louis, yes I know that's not exactly this area, but they have several fantastic real italian bakeries in the Hill District.
