"Apron-Driven" Dinner at Volare Last Night

by Mike D » Wed Jan 29, 2014 1:58 pm

Becky and I ate at the bar at Volare last night. The bar area was hoppin' - and Apron was being discussed.

It was half-price wine night so we sprung for a bottle of Italian red. Don't ask me what it was -- I'm a beer drinker and Becky picked it out -- but we really enjoyed it. We shared a plate of excellent calamari, a really nice wedge salad and, for my money, one of the best apps in town -- the Rotollini Di Melanzane (three rolls of eggplant stuffed with ricotta and baked, served with an excellent marinara(?) and some sort of balsamic reduction). We ended with an order of cannoli to go. We received outstanding service from a very knowledgeable, professional bartender.
