Blu? Or where really close to Marriott?

by Bonnie E. » Tue Jan 28, 2014 5:01 pm

Could anyone offer any good suggestions for a dinner tonight that is a walkable distance from the Marriotte on W. Jefferson? A friend is in town for a work thing and they are looking for a dinner spot that is within a fast walk (since it is so cold). I know Blu is in the Marriott but have no idea what it is like. Thanks for your help.

I have always had good food at Bistro 301, which is one block away at 3rd and Market.

We had a work dinner last Wednesday and our group walked from 4th & Market to DOC CROW'S at 2nd & Main. It was freezing, but so worth it. We were very impressed by the food, service, and pricing.

Agree with both of above

.If it's just too cold, Blu isn't bad for a "nice" dinner (much more formal than either of the above suggestions), and if you want more downscale (and don't want to walk to BBC on Main St.) Champions is a standard sports bar with a predictable (but not bad) menu.

Also, don't forget you're right around the corner from Milkwood, in the Actor's Theatre building!

Don't forget that we have a nice pedway overhead tunnel system that links the Yum Center to the Starks Building on the edge of 4th St. Live. It winds through the Galt House, Convention Center and the Hyatt.

Hillbilly Tea is also very close, as is Saffron.
