Welcome to the Louisville Restaurants Forum, a civil place for the intelligent discussion of the local restaurant scene and just about any other topic related to food and drink in and around Louisville.
I would give anything for the recipe from Lexington's High on Rose restaurant from the mid-80's. Like one with cilantro mixed in. Chuy's is good but want something with a little less bite. I would like to investigate some of the Mexican restaurants down Preston - anyone have a favorite?
El Molcajete has a signature smoky warm dark salsa with onions and cilantro. It's not my favorite but it is unusual. Most of the places down Preston have a trio of red, a green, and a oil-based creamy green. I haven't found any to be very noteworthy. My favorite salsas overall are probably at El Camino. They aren't free, though.
I am a big fan of Senor Iguanas cilantro filled salsa, but my overall favorite is Taco Punk 's pineapple habanero. I wish they would sale it by the gallon.
