After 10 years, Secrets of Louisville Chefs has partnered with Bourbon Barrel Foods to give the show a new home. The show will now be taped in Bourbon Barrel Foods' new Kitchen Studio, which is equipped with new appliances, bourbon barrel accents, and furniture from local wood artisan Jason Cohen. The first episode in the new studio will feature Chef John Varanese, who will highlight locally sourced ingredients and share the recipes for an Ahi Tuna dish and a Bacon Wrapped Pork Tenderloin with Dried Cherry and Bourbon Chutney. The episode will air on Sunday, March 3 at 11 a.m. on WAVE-3.
For the first time, a live audience will be invited to experience the taping in this setting. Those in attendance will get to taste the chefs' creations. Tickets to be part of the studio audience at the Saturday, Feb. 8 taping, which will include Varanese at 11 a.m. and Chef Patrick Roney of The Oakroom at the Seelbach at noon, are sold through auctions to raise money for local charities. A very limited amount of seats are available to the general public and are priced at $50 per person. Ticket information is available on the Secrets website at www.NewLocalTV.com.
Secrets of Louisville Chefs is hosted by Tim Laird and Kevin Harned, and features chefs who reveal the "secrets" to their most popular dishes. The show was formerly taped in a classroom at Sullivan University.
Bourbon Barrel Foods and their Theater Kitchen are located in the Butchertown Market, 1201 Story Ave.
