Certainly sounds interesting, but I wonder how they're going to get around Kentucky liquor laws? 1st of all, they don't have a liquor license that I know of, and secondly according to Kentucky liquor law you can't give away liquor as a promotion. Maybe there's some way around this or maybe it's that true but it's what I've heard in the past.

Great question. I wonder if it will have something to do with the amount of alcohol in the shake?

I would guess so, and the fact that it's actually a cookbook promotion, the author is probably putting a little taste of liqueur (which is weaker than liquor) into a large milkshake, it's really more like a tasting than a bar situation.

I can't speak to Kentucky directly, but it has been my experience that those responsible for enforcing state alcohol laws seldom see shades of grey.

Well, what about when brandy is used to flambé a dish and the restaurant has no liqueur license?
