APRON Inc Dine Around Event TODAY, Jan. 28

by Robin Garr » Wed Jan 15, 2014 4:53 pm

Apron Inc. 2nd Annual Dine Around Event Tuesday, January 28

Participating restaurants will be donating a portion of their profits to Apron Inc. So just by enjoying a meal at one or more of these fine local and independent establishments you can help support a worthy non profit organization.

The mission of APRON, Inc. is to provide temporary, limited financial relief to professional food and beverage workers in the Louisville, KY metro area who work at locally owned establishments and are experiencing financial distress due to illness, injury or other issues. The funds raised at the annual events go directly to locals in need of this support. Serving as a safety net, APRON serves the local community “helping you out of the weeds.”

With the vibrant and thriving independent restaurant landscape in Louisville, APRON, INC. grew out of a need to support the workers at such establishments who by no fault of their own have fallen on hard financial times mostly relating to unexpected medical costs.

Re: APRON Inc Dine Around Event TOMORROW, Jan. 28

Naturally, I'm biased, since I'm on the board of APRON with a lot of other highly motivated people - this is a cause that's near and dear to my heart.

Please, dine out at one of the participating restaurants tomorrow, and help support APRON's mission of helping financially distressed local restaurant workers "out of the weeds". A portion of proceeds from any of these fine establishments will be donated to this worthy cause.

If you have any questions, please feel free to post them here. And if you do dine out at any restaurant on the list - please let your server or hostess know you support APRON!

A huge THANK-YOU in advance to the restaurant owners who agreed to donate a portion of their proceeds from tomorrow. Those of us on the Apron board are pretty proud of the list we've pulled together this year - just our second year of doing this event. Something for everyone!

We'll be headed over to Equus for dinner in support of this fine cause.

I'm trying to decide if shorts and flip flops will be warm enough.

Just got back from a great lunch at El Taco Luchador, where they had the APRON material displayed clearly, and people were talking about it.

Rich and I had lunch at the Highlands Bristol, has not been in a while. Signs on the windows and the staff thanked us for supporting APRON. Still love me some Green Chili Wontons! :D

We had a great lunch at Selena's today, like the others mentioned they had the Apron materials prominently posted. Since this is lobster week there we indulged with Lobster Mac & Cheese for an appetizer and Lobster Rolls for the meal! Extremely delicious to say the least, they said they were already fully booked for this evening which is obviously great for both them and Apron!
