Don't know if this is of interest, yesterday evening, I tried a "deep dish Sicilian pizza" in my neighborhood.
Last night, I ordered carry out of the 10" Deluxe Sicilian deep dish pizza from one of the pizza places near my neighborhood of Oldham county, The Original Impellizzeri's at 4933 Old Brownsboro Road, 40222. It's in the old Pizza Hut next to Holiday Manor. Also, a dinner salad and garlic sauce.
The website suggested the pizza would take up to 45 minutes to bake. I arrived early and my order was waiting for me. I paid the $31.78 tab and tipped the bartender $3

I got home, looking forward to a pizza similar to the website picture…I opened the salad first. Seemed like a "light" and sad salad for $5 and no croutons. The salad dressing, balsamic vinaigrette, was good.
The pizza looked like it had been pre-made and then cooked sausage sprinkled on top. And, that is what it tasted like. It was barely warm, and I had put it in an insulated bag for the 13-15 minute ride home. I heated up a square in the oven and it was better, it got a little crispy and the small amount of cheese on the pizza melted. I had to "steal" some cheese from another piece and remove some sausage from the piece I was heating. The heavy sausage topping was good, but a little too generous.
Is that the best it gets in my area? I am disappointed in my expensive "deep dish" experience. This is why, when I occasionally order carry out pizza, I go to Papa John's.

Yes, I did email my disappointment to an email address shortly after, but I did not call the restaurant because I did not intend to go out in the weather, again. Maybe I should I looked in the pizza box before I left the restaurant.
