Frankfort lunch help

by Ed Vermillion » Thu Dec 26, 2013 12:37 pm

Short notice thrown in my lap dilemma that I need help with: Lunch, this Saturday (28th) for 9-12 family members with tastes that run from full bore carnivore to vegetarian. I don't know Frankfort at all so any help would be appreciated. The White Light Diner has been rejected by 7 participants and I'm not asking why. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Well, since my 1st choice has been rejected by a majority of your party there's one other place that I've eaten that was pretty good. It's Serafini located downtown on Broadway, here's their website: http://serafinifrankfort.com/. It's a locally owned Italian place with pretty good variety on their menu.

There is a Ginza in Frankfort that I've heard good things about. Also a panera and longhorn. Johnny Carinos is also pretty good Italian that should have something got everyone.

I second Serafini. It is Italian, nice location and ambiance. Rick's is too small for your group. On my first and last visit there, I found the prices exorbitant and the owner too eager to regale diners with his opinions on everything (including a previous customer who complained about the prices). But since you aren't asking about that I will just second Serafini.

Thanks for the input. Serafini's looked great but is dinner only on Saturday. Has anyone been to Bistro 241?

Ed,
I ate at Bistro 241 last summer when I was in Frankfort at a collage sorority reunion and it was wonderful! There were about 20 of us and everyone loved what they had. It is a very cute space and the owner could not have been nicer. Would highly recommend if it is open for lunch on Saturday --it wasn't then but hopefully that has changed!

Go to Midway. It's 15 minutes up the road and you have more authentic choices.

Otherwise the original Thai Smile location is in Frankfort (http://www.thaismileky.com).

My default if you had to stay in Frankfort would probably be Panera. There are plenty of other chains.

There are a number of "mexican" restaurants, they are all mex-american of the lowest common denominator. I cannot recommend any of them.

There are 2 "chinese" buffets which are generally a disappointment.
