Good question, Heather! With Christmas Eve falling on a Tuesday night, usually a fairly quiet night in the eatz biz 8) I wonder if restaurants will be more likely to take a very long weekend or to try to use Tuesday night to make up for lost time.

I'll pin this to the top of the forum until Dec. 25 so folks can post Christmas Eve info here. Christmas Day, too, although that's typically a day when the only restaurant life is usually among Asian restaurants and maybe hotel dining rooms.

(There's a long tradition of Vietnam Kitchen on Christmas afternoon, by the way, and it's not just for "heathens." Even this seminarian generally heads for VK after work on Xmas! )

Heathens are much more fun!

I think I'll change your original headline a little, Heather, if that's okay with you ...

Jumbo Buffet, Peking City open

by Bill Veneman » Thu Dec 12, 2013 1:33 pm

Jumbo Buffet will be open Christmas, as will Peking City in Middletown. I am sure I will see more in my travels and will post accordingly!

I haven't seen the requisite emails from the big hotels yet, but I'm sure they are doing something...I know Thanksgiving at Rivue was incredible.

Waffle House open!

by Robin Garr » Fri Dec 13, 2013 10:22 am

I am reliably informed that Waffle Houses remain open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, and 365 days around the year. I might not normally mention fast food, but hash browns smothered and covered and all that other good stuff do have their appeal.

Glad to be of service to the community, Chris. I'll post another topic for New Year's Eve and New Year's Day events/closings as soon as people start sending them in. :)

Ginza on Shelbyville Road will be open Christmas Eve and Day. Went by for dinner last night and they had a sign posted stating so much! That might work, they have a full service bar and Scorpion Bowls! SCORE!
