perhaps this thread could've been titled, "The Emperor's New Bourbon"?

I read the short BuizzFirst article and the linked AP story:
http://www.wcpo.com/news/state/state-ke ... per-bottle

What I *couldn't* find in either article were comments about the taste/quality of the Michter's Celebration,...just a lot of remarks from retailers, marketers and investment-types.

So the question stands - - is it...any good?

At $350/glass, you won't likely be getting an opinion from me!

Anybody know anything about the Michter's guys?

I had a bottle of their shelf Bourbon a couple of years ago and don't recall being overly impressed...kind of run of the mill as I recall.

Michter's is the outfit (from New York) that built a new distillery in Shively. They're also rehabbing the crumbling buildings across from 21C on Main Street. More info here.

And while we're on the subject of Bourbon, there have been a few interesting pieces written recently about the stuff:
"It ain't a matter of pork 'n beans that's gonna justify your soul
Just don't try to lay no boogie woogie on the king of rock and roll."
