Horrible Service at Sapporo...anyone else?

by Jessica Murr » Fri Oct 25, 2013 1:59 pm

My husband and I were regulars at ordering take out from Saporro...2-3 times a month. That all ended last night because of horrible service last night and the way they treated me. You can read about it here: http://lastbitofsanity.com/2013/10/25/saporro/. Has anyone else had this kind of treatment from them? Or was it just a one-off type of deal? Just curious.

Sounds like poor staff training to me. The fact that the host was going to simply give you the returned meal (sushi no less! ) not knowing how that food had been handled is horrible. What an extreme lack of consideration not to mention health laws . Once they saw your meal was mistakenly out the door a new one should have been prepared for you. And they asked the previous patron to drive the incorrect meal back?! WTF?! Asking the patron to cover their mistake?

Well you said you'd inform the dining community and you did. Thank you.

Jessica,
I totally agree with Carla's comments, and having a 9 year old myself, I get how painful the wait was. I appreciate you sharing your experience with us. Your complaint is real and was well written, but I'll admit that the closing asking people to in essence to boycott Sapporo seems a little strong. I'm sure we'll all make up our own minds from the facts you've laid out.

Genuinely sorry you've lost one of your fave places. :(

"Tell your friends", huh? Well, they just lost 3 more customers in my family, and I just tweeted your blog. What a horrible attitude! Not to mention the liability issues of offering food that had been out of the restaurant. Yes, a training issue, but also a attitude issue from the top down. No manager should ever tell a customer, yeah go ahead and complain to your friends. I do not eat from Pizza Hut after a similar attitude over 7 years ago. No manager in-house to manage? Sounds like there are more issues there...

Yes, we have. In general the place has the following with 20-something year olds all out trying to impress each other, they have forgotten how to deal with real customers and I guess since they are always packed they dont really need to.

We live only a few blocks away and for the most part avoid the place as being over priced and pretentious. For sushi we go to Wild Ginger, which is walkable from our house or Dragon Kings Daughter.
I eat, therefore I am.

I totally agree with your take on the situation. If I ate sushi, I'd boycott them myself.

There was no reason they needed to wait for the other customer to return before preparing your order anew... defies logic.

That place is somewhat overpriced; I much prefer Oishii.
