Highland Fish Market opening in St. Matthews

by Steve A » Mon Oct 21, 2013 8:30 am

They're opening a Highland Fish Market (not currently in the Highlands?) in St. Matthews in the Chenoweth Plaza, where Seafood Connection used to be. Peeking in the window it looks like a full remodel of the place from what it was, with counters for fresh fish and an olive oil station. A sign on the door says they'll be opening on November 1.

That will be a nice addition. I felt Seafood Connecrion kind if lost focus.

There used to be 2 separate Highland Fish Markets that shared the same name but were completely different operations. I wonder if this one will be related to the one in Middletown or not?

The market will be owned and operated by the owner of the original Highland Fish Market. I'm sure it will be awesome, Gary does a great job and demands very high quality from his suppliers.

But...but...that's not in the Highlands...it's in St. Matthews. Name paradox...mind melting...anal retention suffocating...

I'm sorry Ronnie, no offense taken. Gary H is just a good friend of mine, a great guy and deserves the best. I just took your joke the wrong way. The reason I don't post much is I don't come across well in writing. You have to actually meet me to realize how awesome I am! lol just kidding btw I feel the same about you Robin as I do Gary.

You are! 8)

And one of the parents of APRON, too. That says a lot about you to anyone who doesn't know you, Michele.

I do have to agree Seafood Connection lost focus. I also never liked the remodel they did. I last ate there 9 days before it closed (actually, I hadn't realized it closed until reading this thread!) I will have to make my own Chessies and Salmon Reubens now! Was there any notice of the lien beforehand? I guess those things are kept secret until they can't manage to pay!

I wonder if Highland Fish Market will have a lunch counter? And, it looks like I will go to Cheddar Box now because each time I thought of going there, I ended up at Seafood Connection! In fact, I used to go to Cheddar Box all the time before the Seafood Connection lunch counter opened, but I hadn't been for the longest time (several years?) until July. I got a slice of caramel cake, and the woman behind the counter said, "How are you? I haven't seen you in forever!" I felt kinda bad lol!
