time for the "Pappy" watch?

by Willie Myers » Wed Oct 02, 2013 5:41 pm

h'lo again, all!
just back from an amazing 5 days in Nawlins. The food just got better and better and better! More later..

But isn't it about time for the yearly Pappy release? Anyone heard anything and/or seen any actually up for sale?
as your server would say, "all tips greatly appreciated!"

About a month to go.

Best advice I can give is to make friends with your local store owner. And by make friends, I don't mean walk through the Door asking "where's the pappy". Spend your $$$ there, talk them up and cross your fingers.

Or take your chances at the local big box waiting in line for the lottery.

High end limited bourbons are the new beanie babies and tickle me elmos. The illicit online grey market has made it tougher for casual bourbon fans to find limited bottles.

Well put...and as a result I am -so- over super-premium-limited Bourbons for the time being. You'll never see this kid pull a number or stand in a Macy's-on-Black-Friday type line for the chance to buy a bottle of -anything-. It's a fad....15 years ago all the cool kids were drinking scotch which then gave way to Vodka (can't figure THAT one out) which then gave way to Tequila, yada-yada-yada.
