Unhappy bartender, cursing all night

by Ellen P » Sun Sep 29, 2013 1:01 pm

We choose to sit at the bar even if we aren't drinking. We of course order food and drink water. Last night we ordered both. Apparently our bartendar was not happy working. He used the F word constantly with us and other employees.
We won't go back. Went in to take a last minute advantage of a special that ends at the end of September. We hadn't been in since May and guess it will be another year before we go back - if ever. No, it wasn't closing time. Another 3 hours.
Do we look for a manager? The beer taps were mislabeled that quite a few were either empty or a different beer. Servers weren't familiar with the beers and kept bringing back beers and asking questions of the bartendar.
Didn't feel like a well oiled machine so I didn't think our observations mattered. We just won't return.

Ugh! That sure doesn't sound like I place that I would want to stay at, Ellen. Or work at, either. :P

Hey Ellen, which location? Most of the locations are franchised; I'm sure the owners would like to know about the problem, so they can address it.

Yeah, I'm about 101 percent sure that the owner would be quite interested in this. :(

While I am not sure of the location that Ellen had such a dismal experience at, I've got nothing but good things to say about the Boombozz at Bardstown and Eastern Parkway.

Recently I called to insure that the BOGO for $.15 deal was available for dine in, carry out and delivery. I was told yes, so I planned a pizza dinner for some friends and their kids. I would grab some pies and salads, we'd have dinner at my house, then I and my son would get haircuts (friend = barber / stylist). When I called to place my to-go order, I was told that the offer had been changed and was now for dine in only. I explained my situation, and shared that I had called Boombozz previously to insure the deal would work for us carrying out. The nice guy on the phone touched base with his manager, and extended the $.15 pizza deal to me. He couldn't have been nicer!

I had a cold Alpha King while waiting (no cursing from the bartender), grabbed our dinner, and was off.

Since moving to the Upper Highlands in July, Boombozz on Bardstown (and Rocky's Gardiner Lane Center) has been our go to pizza spot. Nothing but good things to say about this place...great food, quality service (dining in and to-go), and a very nice beer list.
