Not sure how 1 location in Indy constitutes this as a chain. Also, I consider Indianapolis a sister city to Louisville. We share many local stores/eateries or are they considered regional when they have locations between two cities? First of all there is Ghyslain, and the running store (Blue Mile). Both of which are from Indianapolis. Also, there has been a Louisville visitors booth in the mall in downtown for years.

Other examples of sister cities who share restaurants and stores include:
Asheville, NC/ Greenville, SC
Fort Worth, TX./ Dallas, TX
Dayton, OH/ Cincinnati, OH
Seattle, WA/ Tacoma, WA

Honestly, if Mesh is good, it will get the foodies and locals out. It is what it is, but should we really hate on it because there is one in Indianapolis? They are a progressive city like Louisville with a young population. Do we as Louisvillians hate Comfy Cow, BoomBozz, or Wild Eggs because they are chains?

In a perfect world we would buy and shop local 100% of the time, but guess what. They could never and will never happen. I love Fleet Feet running store in the Highlands and that is the biggest running specialty store chain in the country. Also, I love Chipotle and obviously so do many other who live here. Live and let live. I will wink at you all when I see you at Mesh.

I think I said "mini-chain." And I believe I did invoke Heine's and Boombozz, or at least I thought about it. '

Mostly, though, my rant in this discussion hasn't been about Mesh so much as about greedy property owners who let "historic" properties decay because they can profit from letting it fall down so they can build generic, soulless replacements and put the money in their piggy banks. The folks who own the Azalea/Doll's/etc. property are certainly not the only practitioners of this, but they're the ones on the target line at the moment.

So will I, of course, but that doesn't stand in the way of a good rant.

So this was just rhetorical?

Well this is great news!
Anoosh Shariat will be at the helm of Mesh. Hopefully this makes it local enough.

I read the same article and am really happy to see that Anoosh is going to be back in the Louisville restaurant scene!

It'll prolly be enough to get a -few- noses out of the air. I'm sure we'll wait to give it a try until all the cool kids have gone on to the next "next big thing" but (personally) I'm looking forward to checking the place out.

Wow! 330 seats. That is a big restaurant for St Matthews.

This is huge news for the Brownsboro/Chenoweth corridor! With nothing notable (with the exception of a bounce up to Chenoweth Square) between Brownsboro Center and Mellwood, this will be a good thing. And with Anoosh at the helm, the sky is the limit!
