Lillet Blonde

Lillet.jpg
It's time for a change. I'm selling LB. I purchased her in Paris in 1990 and carried her rolled lengthwise through customs. Think Jackie Gleason and Art Carney! Like the vintage posters hanging in Dietrich's, Swearingen Gallery stretched and framed the canvas and covered it with acrylic not glass. Framed it measures 53" x 80". It's on Craig's List. I could break it out of the frame and re-roll it for shipping purposes but framing is $$$ and Swearingen did an awesome job. Robin if this is inappropriate, I understand. My apologies. If it is okay to post I'm thinking LB's scale is good for residential or restaurant. C

It's all good, Catherine! No problem, and it's an awesome poster. If we had any place for it, I'd bid on it myself ... 8)

I'm guessing this blonde will be a little expensive for my budget, but I can't find your ad on Craigslist.

Price, please?

Thanks Robin. It is pretty cool. I forgot to say it's signed Roby '39. Can't decide what I love more his use of orange, the graphic lettering at the bottom or the motion in his design :) . Of course working at Dietrich's surrounded by that collection esp. the Fap 'Anis and the Bonal SERIOUSLY spoiled me  .

On Craig's List it's under the Lou. / Art & Craft/ Original Vintage Poster. Shall try again to include a link. No luck w/this and CL on first try. Kind of thought they would offer a link for posting elsewhere in their email.

somewhat confused -- why would this be on canvas?

wouldn't that point to a quality modern reproduction as opposed to a vintage item?

or were some of these ad posters prepared on canvas as well?

a paper version did command a price in your range 2 years ago -- but that was a period piece.

It's my understanding, at purchase, that the canvas backing is there to protect the fragility of the paper.

Ask away. But Bim may know more than I do. My sense is, in his travels, he's in contact with several dealers and so is much more update on the demand/prices/scarcity of the larger pieces.
