Pumpkin outing: where to go?

by Laura SS » Thu Aug 22, 2013 4:50 pm

I have a corporate group of 10-20 adults, and we're looking for somewhere not too far from downtown Louisville to have a fall pumpkin-patch outing on Friday, October 4. We'd like to consider eating lunch at the location (either bringing it with us or possibly getting it from the facility itself, if that's an option). This is nothing super-formal -- just our team doing something fun together. We'd probably also want to do more than just get pumpkins, since it's likely to be a pretty good drive from downtown.

Huber's is off the table, as too many have been there too often already. Where else would you recommend?

Other than Huber's I don't think you're going to find such a place. Even if everyone has been there it's still fun and certainly not very far.

I agree with Leah, but Gallrein is alot farther out than you want to go from Downtown. We go there every year- so much less crowded and crazy than Hubers in a great country setting ( nice drive too).

My kids have done field trips to Montgomery Farms in Underwood/Henryville. I'm not sure what all amenities they have as their website is under construction, but they might be worth a call.

While doing a bit more searching, I came up with the following page with information on Southern Indiana Pumpkin Patches, corn mazes, etc: http://www.pumpkinpatchesandmore.org/INpsouth.php. Montgomery was listed under Scott County, but there were quite a few places listed.
