More info on this:
Over the past few years, we all have heard about the push to buy more locally produced food products, especially from our farmers markets. It is important that we all know where our food comes from.
On September 3, the Spencer County Cooperative Extension Service is proud to host the first Spencer County Farm to Table Meal. All of the products that will be incorporated into this 5 course Italian meal have been grown or produced in Spencer County. You will even meet the people (your neighbors) who produced the items.
We are proud to have Volare Italian Ristorante Executive Chef, Josh Moore, who resides in Little Mount, preparing the meal. We will feature locally produced beef, pork, cheese, and vegetables. Josh recently had the honor of preparing a meal at the famous James Beard House in New York. He enjoys incorporating items from his garden into the meals he prepares at Volare.
The meal will begin at 6:30 p.m. and there is a $20 charge per person. Proceeds from the event will help the Spencer Co. 4-H Meats Judging Team attend the Western National Roundup in Denver, Colorado for the National Meats Judging Contest.
To register, please call our office at 477-2217 by August 26. We are limiting registration to the first 100 so please call soon. To view the menu, please visit (above)
