Baxter Station closed by tax officials? Or not?

by Robin Garr » Wed Aug 07, 2013 6:56 am

Management claims not on its Facebook page, but respondents (and my informants) tell me that it's locked and posted with a yellow IRS sign.

Andrew Hutto, are you lurking? Could you fill us in, please?

Just to let everyone know that, undo to rumors and the closed days over the past few weeks, we are open for lunch and dinner today and the rest of the week.
Hope to see you soon!

Weird. If noone has an answer by this afternoon I'll walk down and see what I can see.

I was afraid something might be up when their website went away. I hope things get back on track soon. They've always been a favorite place for me.

Actually, the website is back up now.

Does anyone remember this thread from last year: Baxter Station going on the market soon? Maybe somehow this thread is related to the recent events.

Some folks on Reddit had some not-so-nice things to say about the place.

I know none of the details, but believe nothing from Reddit- too many anonymous people posting made-up crap.

I had looked for info on their breakfast offerings a few weeks ago, and assumed the missing website meant trouble. I never did make it for breakfast. Does anyone know how that was doing?

I had a reservation for 8 there on the 1st. Received a message the day of telling me they were closed due to plumbing problems. The message recommended other options including Rover and, IIRC, North End. We ended up at the North End on Bardstown for a fine meal, but it wasn't Baxter.

I drove by Baxter Station this evening and the yellow "Closed" sign is still on the front door. Does anyone have any more information regarding what's going on? I have a Wednesday lunch date at Baxter with a friend and it looks like we may need to find a new spot.

No inside info, but I think I'd start looking for an alternative. :(

My wife and I went for breakfast once, not long after they started doing it. We weren't impressed. It was fine, but didn't rise to my personal better-than-I-could-do-myself-at-home standard for a worthwhile restaurant breakfast.

We tried to go there Friday for dinner and it was definitely closed. :( Love that place, hope it re-opens soon.
