Celebration indecision

by Richard Whitaker » Sun Jul 07, 2013 9:26 pm

Debbie and I are making our semi-annual pilgrimage back to Louisville this fall. We plan on taking a group of friends to dinner (12-15 of us) to mark our 25th anniversary. Yes, I am really old!

The group includes a couple of vegetarians. Some of this bunch are serious foodies and some, not so much. Trying to get a space that is at least semi-private. We are talking with Corbett's and with Rye after spirited discussion between us.

Anyone want to put their finger on the scale and help us decide? Other suggestions are of course welcome, because why make life too easy.

thanks!

Corbett's certainly has to be the top of most lists! The downstairs area would be a perfect setting for your event. Nothing needs to be said about that menu because of Chef Deano's reputation in town. Rye is also quite nice although a little less traditional, I believe that heaven upstairs area that can be used for private events. However to me Rye and most of the other NuLu restaurants still lack that certain flair that Corbett's as well as many other of the traditional Louisville restaurants have.

I would give a nod and two thumbs up to Corbett's as well! But for something else, consider Wiltshire on Market. They have a very nice room upstairs that I didn't know about until we got invited to one of Colleen's partners anniversary shinding there. Food and service were fantastic and evryone had a great time!
