BBQ grill service and cleaning

by Derrick Dones » Fri Jul 05, 2013 12:31 pm

Robin, if you feel this should be posted in the Louisville forum, please feel free to move it. I just thought it would get more traction here.

Just curious if anyone is aware of a company around town that cleans and services BBQ grills. I am sure I could do this myself (I cleaned my grill last summer), but I am pressed for time presently...and the ignite on my Ducane Affinity probably needs to be replaced.

Surely the daddio of the patio has the scoop.

Thanks. DD

We use Brownsboro Hardware. Know they service Weber; not sure about Ducane.

Actually, Ducane is now owned by Weber. Unfortunately, the quality of Ducane grills is not what it used to be and the lifetime warranties have been discontinued. Also instead of being a grill that was sold in specialty stores they are now mainly sold in the big box stores (Lowe's and Home Depot) which are probably not going to provide service for them. I bet that Brownsboro may be able to help you out. Even if they don't directly service them igniters are pretty generic these days.

Derrick,
Oops, thought I posted this earlier but... We got a flyer in the paper box tonight for cleaning/servicing Ducane grills. The guy evidently worked for Anson Gas Grill in Middletown, which is where we bought our Ducane. His contact info is: Dennis @ 618-9516.

Thanks Carol. I just heard back from Dennis and he will be cleaning and servicing my grill tomorrow around lunch! He seems enthusiastic and promised that the frill will look like new when he is done! I will post a full report concerning his services. He charges $89 to clean and service a grill like mine (Ducane Affinity 4400, stainless steel w/ rotisserie burner)

Mark, you are exactly correct...my Ducane pre-dates the Weber buy-out, and I bought it locally at Steepleton's. It is a quality product, and that is why I want it cleaned and serviced, rather than buy something that will need to be replaced in a few years.

Brownsboro hardware said that they might eventually work on the Ducan grills, but currently they only service and clean Webers.
