Well, the first time I went to Taco Punk, I had a mediocre (at best) experience. The food was good, but the portions and price weren't in proper alignment. However, armed with another coupon, I decided to go back and give it a second chance.
I'm not sure what happened between my last visit and this one, but the portion sizes seemed to increase. Not a whole lot, but better than last time for sure; perhaps I got the wrong person last time around doling out my food at the steam trough. I felt like my tacos were appropriately filled, and I got more chips (so no need to complain about that). The food was good, and it looks like they have shifted from disposable dishware to using metal platebowls that can be washed and used again, which is definitely a smart idea.
The only new criticisms I have (this time) concern the outside seating arrangements (a lot of tables and chairs piled into the location for its size, no real walking room to tables inside the porch) and the lack of the extra-hot hot sauce.
One old criticism--the wait for food itself--remains. I'm not sure why you have a stream tray if you're not going to have things waiting to be served on it. After all, it's chicken/shrimp sauteed in stuff, not something that you really have to cook to order. Also, if you're going to have a cafeteria serving line, you should probably have more than two people there to dole out the food. I had to wait at the steam tray for probably 5 minutes before anyone even looked at me, then there was more wait to get the tacos filled. If I'm going to have to wait for the food at the register, why not just bring it to me when it's ready at a table?
Service complaints aside, I definitely had a better punksperience this time around.
