Can someone please explain to me what that is exactly?

We had a zoning case yesterday for a proposed restaurant, and that was the owner's description. If this happens, it's gonna be uber-cool!

Hint (Frankfort Ave.)

My take on that is high-end wine list and food but jeans encouraged. Sounds pretty ideal actually...

I love casual upscale. My husband and I are lucky enough to be able to go out and eat where we want, however, we are still young and LOVE to dress LA fashionably. (meaning jeans, nice shirts, and heels for me)

There are a few places here in town that we don't feel comfortable walking in like that, but odds are it's a weekend and we plan on meeting friends out for drinks later. So that is how we dress.

Bring on the new places! :D

The redesign of the building is going to be beautiful according to the plans. Problems with parking, though.

I don't mind upscale casual dress, but......

People tend to the the casual to an extreame and forget about the upscale. There are some things on some people that should be left covered and to the imigination

as long as i can still wear jeans and a t-shirt into an establishment i dont care.

i'm not a fan of having to put on a shirt and tie and slacks just to eat.

Varanese

It's PROPOSED.

And in true Louisville fashion, it's where the Red Lounge used to be.

IF this happens, and its in the planning stages now (permits have not yet been pulled), it looks quite stunning on the site plan. There's a large addition to the building planned. Well, large in that its a small property to begin with.

There are some parking issues that have to be overcome, however.

I sincerely wish them much good luck.

Casual dining is great, but I am not sure that I'd want to have dinner at the Oakroom for a special occassion and see a bunch of folks wearing t-shirts and jeans. Everything has its place.

upscale casual?

by Andrew Mellman » Wed Mar 21, 2007 1:06 pm

I think of Baxter Station (unusual bistro food, good list of beers & liquor) or Bourbon's Bistro (very good food, expensive, top liquor), where one can get top tier food yet wear dressy jeans?

Well I dont think you have to worry about me eating there. I looked over their menu once and didnt see much that interested myself or my girlfriend. I'm sure it's great food for people into the food there, just not for me.

Thanks Mike, but I wasn't worrying about running into you in particular in the Oakroom, just sharing my thoughts on the subject.

Andrew: Good upscale places where you can feel comfortable in dressy jeans: L&N, Jack Fry's, Proof, Seviche.
