Drama in Garage Logic...

by Steve P » Wed Jun 05, 2013 9:00 am

In the beginning there was "Steve-Oh's Italian Kitchen in beautiful downtown Buckner (Garage Logic)...You might know where it is located, who knows might have even been there...Nice little family ran place that serves up a fairly nice pizza pie, reasonable renditions of Italian and American favorites as well as some pretty good sammichs. In the beginning there was -also- Frascelli's, nice little family ran place in Crestwood that serves up a fairly nice pizza pie, reasonable renditions of Italian and American favorites as well as some pretty good sammichs. And all was well.

Last year, after not being able to renegotiate a favorable lease with their landlord in Crestwood, Frascelli's moved their entire operation to a new location down on Murphy Lane (next to Keena's Corner and around the bend from Rooties)....and all was still well.

Now...in what can only be described as one of the ballsiest moves ever...one that has all three of the foodies in Garage Logic atwitter...Frascelli's is moving their entire operation -again-....To a new location, in beautiful downtown Garage Logic...across the street and a short baseball throw from Steve-Oh's.

All is NOT well in Garage Logic ! Can Steve-Oh's stand up to a full frontal assault ? Will Frascelli's get there comeuppance. Will this in your face challenge end up dividing churches ?....schools ?....FAMILIES ???

Only time will tell...Frascelli's opens their new location in 5 or 6 days....So tune in next week, same bat time, same bat channel.

It has to be expensive to move all your operations like that.

Didn't Stevie-Oh's also open a second location in Oldham County near the strip center at the corner of Veterans Highway and Westwind (also in Crestwood), which closed a year later partly (or mainly) due to local signage laws (i.e.: nobody could find his place in the shopping center without any main-street signs)?

In other words, don't we have two places licking their wounds after fairly recent moves and problems with Crestwood restaurants, going head to head once again across the street?

No one studies history any more?

Bing Bing Bing. You are correct sir. I think Steve O's closed the Crestwood store almost two years ago

I don't recall Steve-Oh's Crestwood experiment...but yeah, the whole sign thing out here is out of control.

FWIW -- I talked to Heather and Darren right before they closed down the Murphy Lane location. The new location is going to be much more like the original deli setup... less Italian dishes.

The Murphy Ln building was sold at auction by an out of state owner a few weeks ago. Seems like the landlord didn't really want to be a landlord.

Apparently they aren't going after the same crowd...This from Frascelli's Facebook page:

Frascelli's Pizza & Pub will be giving 15% OFF any food purchase
@ regular menu price from Feb 21, 2013 until March 31, 2013
All you have to do is show a valid Concealed Carry Permit
to get your discount. (ALCOHOL & SPECIALS NOT INCLUDED)

That and (only repeating what I heard second hand) apparently they push really hard to corner the leather-attired-tatted-up-old-biker-guy/chick-segment of the dining market. :|
