A restaurant co-op idea

by Ellen P » Fri May 24, 2013 4:26 pm

This is from one of my other favorite forums:

Would love to see a neighborhood or two or more in Louisville try this. Gardens. Garthering place for a neighborhood. No alcohol. It's about the food and the people. Community pride.
A vacant building - that shouldn't be an issue. The rehab could be a problem.
Near an existing school and/or playground.
Might require a grant or two and some financial support from someone or a corporation initially but it should be all about the neighborhood.
Sell local art? Clothing, etc?
Music.
It could be the hub of a neighborhood and expand from there.
Thinking out loud. Start with one. There's so much being done in the city and state as far as connecting growers. Some of our neighborhoods are really hurting.
Thanks, Ellen
