I noticed this morning on my way to work, there is a new sign up where La Columbiana was :( . La Condesa. Anyone have any scoop?

If true it's not real surprising.

We went maybe once/month . . . the people and the food were very nice, but there were never more than 2-3 tables taken, and with only the one family working (sometimes at lunch just the mom cooking, serving, et al, and at dinner mom & one or two daughters) one just had a feeling that this couldn't last.

Lyndon seems like a hard location to thrive in. It's kind of a traffic black hole, very difficult to get in and out of there easily. Less so since they opened the Westport exit off of 264, but it's still an area I try to avoid when possible.

Given the number of other closings recently (the donut shop, Sonic, the custard place, etc.) I'm probably not alone in that.

You all have said it all. Excellent food, extremely nice family, poor location. I liked the place and hate to see it go, but sadly, I can't remember the last time I went there.

Bummer dude, That was one of my to go spots out in Lyndon if I had to drop off orders in the area around lunch time. Although I hadn't been there in about 4 months or so. The food there was indeed very good. Also sad to see them go.

The name on the building is now La Condesa. And their menu now looks very typical Mexican. However, just ask for the La Columbiana menu and they'll give it to you.

First let me say when you see this it does not say La Colombiana- it says La Condesa which is confusing. We love Tapas and came here because of urban spoon. My husband lived in Spain and this is the first restaurant that seems authentic. I loved the diet mojito, since most are so sweet. The food is fabulous, and the prices are amazing! The tapas were fabulous. The tostadas de ceviche was one of the best appetizers I have ever had ( $3.99-is this possible?). For desert, the choco flan was fabulous. The Perico coffee made with sugar cane and milk was better than any Starbucks. Even more amazing was getting a seat with no wait at 7:30 on Friday night. This is a find no one should miss.

Oh, good, I was just thinking the other day that we needed another Mexican restaurant in town.

Huh? Is it Mexican or Spanish tapas? Those are two entirely different menus. :?:
