Hot Wings

by Jessica Devine » Sat Nov 24, 2007 3:30 pm

My boyfriend's stepdad is in town trying to get his mother settled in a nursing home. My boyfriend wanted to cheer him up by taking him out for some good wings. Besides, BW3s, where are some good places to try? He usually likes them pretty hot. Any suggestions?

We did a bunch of reviews of good wings places in LEO back at the start of football season:

On wings of fire

(Note: Wings N Things and Hippo Wings have since closed.)

You might want to try the new B.C. Roosters on Preston. The wings are lightly breaded then fried, Hooters' style. The size has been huge compared to the normal wing places around town. We get the "Donkey" level of heat. There are 2 levels hotter, but they get a little out of hand. Even though the franchise seems like a Hooters' knock-off, the wait staff is not at all like "Hooters' girls". I believe they still have 40 cent wings after 6 on Wed. and draft pints are $1.50 2-6 and after 10 on weekdays.

Good advice! Just as a reminder, both B.C. Roosters and Spring Street (mentioned in Neal's post) are in fact featured in the LEO article linked above.
