Chef Dustin Staggers

by DustinStaggers » Tue Apr 30, 2013 10:21 am

I wanted to let the readers of Hot Bytes know that I am no longer at 60 West Bistro and Martini Bar. I enjoyed my time there immensely and loved the opportunities that Charlie and Emilie provided me.

I am looking for some space myself in Nulu or Clifton for a concept I have been developing for quite some time. I have a lot of personal capital behind it but if anyone knows of a good financier or might have a lead on a good space that the rest of the public doesn't know about, please feel free to email or DM me at any time.

Once again wanted to say how much I enjoyed my almost two years at 60.

Good Luck Dustin!
The old Mikado spot is sitting empty across from the Silver Dollar. I've always thought the place needed a good deal of renovation, but the outdoor area would be a big plus!

We went to the annual Mother's Day brunch I made a reservation at 10 since one in our party had a short lunch hour. If I make a normal reservation in a restaurant, I expect to wait between courses, etc. but when a buffet says it opens at 10, it Gould be ready. It took nearly 20 minutes for many items to arrive and at least that long for the omelette station to get going. This is one of the busiest days for restaurants, you'd expect them to be prepared.

I am referring to 60 West! I hope they haven't completely fallen apart, we like the place.

Linda,

Let me first say thank you so much for your support and for coming in for our Mother's Day brunch. I do apologize for the wait. Unfortunately with the recent departure of the chef we have had to bring in new individuals in the kitchen and get them trained and up to speed. That being said most of the individuals did have prior jobs, which we insisted that they keep good on their two weeks’ notice as even though it did put us shorthanded I think it is so important that you keep good on your word and honestly wouldn't want they working there if they didn't. Unfortunately as I said, it did make us shorthanded and they were running a bit behind. I do sincerely apologize and I can assure you we won't be caught in this situation again.

We certainly haven't completely fallen apart, actually we have changed our menu back to the original favorites and I for one and extremely excited for that! Please come back and check it out! :)

As always thank you for the continued support and if you need anything please don't ever hesitate to contact me!

Thank you!

Emilie

We came in Saturday night prior to Mother's Day and had a delightful evening! Keep up the good work.
