London Eateries...

by RichardM » Mon Apr 01, 2013 12:31 pm

The bride and I are going to London Friday morning.

Kentucky not United Kingdom. We Wish.

However, we would appreciate any info on someplace to eat Friday evening for us. And, since it is her conference, not mine, I am looking for someplace for breakfast & lunch on Saturday, and breakfast on Sunday. Also someplace to have coffee beside the Starbucks altho with the free WiFi that may be my choice. Just looking for local places and thought maybe there is someone on the board from there, or who visits family there and could give us a heads up.

Thanks for your support,
Richard Lord Meadows, Earl of Vienna, Marquess of Morgantown and Westover, Baronet of Parkersburg, and West Virginia’s Ambassador to the Portland Neighborhood.

There's a restaurant located on the London-Corbin Airport (the airport is actually in London just off of Hwy 25 -- heading toward Corbin). The food is standard pub grub, but it's local and the patio has a front row view of the planes coming & going. The last time I was there, there was also a Cornhole game. My father built the building. http://www.london-corbinairport.com/the ... urant.html

The Burger Boy Restaurant is a diner/greasy spoon that's been there for decades. It's a little worn around the edges. But if you're looking for local, this is it. I believe it's open 24 hours. Breakfast anytime.

If you feel like taking a drive to Corbin one evening, I recommend you check out "The Root Beer Stand." It's an old school drive-in. Root Beer, Dixie Burgers, Chili Dogs....tray of food attached to your car window... (Take I-75 south to Exit 25. Take a left off the exit and follow the road about 3 miles until you see the drive-in on your right. The drive from London will take about 20 minutes)

Haven't tried the others you mentioned, but this one is certainly a must if you are in the area!
