We will be in Atlanta this weekend and I am wanting some suggestions for BBQ....or just good soul food, comfort food. If there are any good Latino ideas, that would be great.

Swallow in the Hollow is an excellent BBQ place in Roswell GA, which is very close to Alpharetta. Good luck.

I used to go to Mary Mac's Tea Room for pot liquor and corn bread, fried chicken and sweet tea. I haven't been to Atlanta in ages, but it looks like it's still in business: http://www.marymacs.com/

Matt taught religion at Morehouse and is a filmmaker. Interesting feller.

For barbecue - Fatt Matt's is great atmosphere but tiny and not the greatest bbq imho. I can't imagine it will be easy to get in the door this weekend. Swallow in the Hollow is top notch and close to where you are staying. The former chef there is in a new place also close to you and worth a visit. 'Cue Barbecue.

For latino there is El Taco Veloz. Several locations and is authentic and awesome. I am also a huge fan of Taqueria Del Sol.
