Dinner W/ Rich & Suzi TONIGHT 3/18 Little Jerusalem Cafè 7

by RichardM » Mon Mar 18, 2013 1:40 pm

If you are out in the South End TONIGHT 03/18/2013 at or about 7:00 PM come join Rich & Suzi for dinner at the Little Jerusalem Cafè, 5312 South 3rd St. 75 minutes of dinner and discussion. FREE WiFi, great Mediterranean food. And, you are home in plenty of time to see The Following.

We are in the South End almost every Monday evening so we thought we might as well see who else is up for dinner each week. This week's a short notice but do come by. Pencil in your calendar for it on Mondays. I'll try to post early on Monday what place we are going to go to. Let me remind you all, there is a dearth of independent restaurants out that way so the rotation will not be large. To help set this up we'll go ahead and say next Monday the 25th we'll do dinner at Lonnie's.

For future planning, think VK, Lonnie's Best Taste of Chicago 8129 Preston Highway, Tuscany Italian Restaurant, and Sharom's Restaurant, 5610 Outer Loop.

Hope to see some of you tonight.

Went there this evening, really good middle eastern for the price, all of the sandwiches are huge and more than enough for one person. Great hummus and falafel, but the overhead fluorescent lighting and general decor isn't conducive to a date destination, unless your date is a foodie.
The two of us had the falafel main which came with hummus, pita, and two salads (baba ghanoush and cucumber/yogurt) and individual sandwiches which was more than enough food for 3-4 people (we could have really just split the falafel main or gotten a sandwich apiece and been stuffed) for $31 including a $7 tip. Unfortunately it was DEAD the entire time we were there (dead as in we were the only two people in the place). The food is easily worth a return trip and I hope to see them do well.

When we were there on Monday night, there were three tables in use. Shame there is not more business but then he may be doing a lot at lunch, weekends. They are in our regular rotation for Monday evenings.

Next Monday is Lonnie's Best Chicago Dog on Preston +/- 7 PM to meet for dinner. Come on out and have a Chicago dog or a brat. We've heard from several people that the fish is awesome there.

See you there...
