This is a complicated subject, and I'm still in mourning, but this much is true: When it was "on," it was the best. Israel has a genuine culinary gift, and considerable charisma, but to be perfectly honest, the accumulated weight of questionable decisions was too much for him to dig out from beneath. Unfortunately, it happens. We move on.
I'm hoping the space is subdivided. Short of sticking a branch of the Hofbrauhaus in it, the building's just too damned big for one operation.
