Detroit-style pizza in J-town

I don't know how it differs from any other type of pizza, but Loui Loui's Authentic Detroit Style Pizza plans to open at 10212 Taylorsville Road. That's apparently the old Ferd Grisanti's location. Loui Loui's Facebook page says they're coming "soon," but doesn't give a date.

Okay, I have to ask. What style of pizza is Detroit pizza? I don't believe I've ever had. It or at least didn't know I was having it when I did.
