Just to let all you good people know my son made it home from the hospital tonight. He will be on IV antibiotics for a week or so at home. His wife's doc said the baby could come at any time but should be no more than 2 weeks. :D

Unfortunatly I am having to revive this topic...my son was readmitted to the hospital on Thursday , this time to Audubon, again with his leg. Got a call Friday evening he coded had to be moved to ICU. after a much frustrating weekend Audubon decided they could not manage his care and we opted to move him to the Downtown Norton still in ICU..So again I am asking for prayer and or positive thoughts, at this point We will take what we can get...Thanks, we need him, his wife needs him and his baby girl is 8 and a half weeks old needs him.

Thank you all so much for the prayers....We think he is doing a bit better, his temp is staying a bit lower , the redness is not quite as bad and the real good news is that after moving to Downtown Norton and switching surgeons he does not need surgery. My Daughter in law has been struggling with if she is doing the right thing for him we keep telling her she is...I can see her maturing before my very eyes...All this the new baby and bless her heart today is her birthday...she said he will owe her big time when he gets better. :)

Wishing her a happy birthday might be a bit heavy right now, Bev, but please extend the forum's best wishes and let her know there are a lot of good wishes and prayers going up from here!

I haven't given you all an update on my son Dan in a while so I thought it was time. He had been doing better was transferred out to Kindred a week ago this past Monday and was sent right back to Norton less than 2 days later with a very low hemoglobin. He was having bleeding in his stomach, he wound up needing something like 12 units of blood. Then just as that was getting under control Sunday morning we got an emergency call they had called a Code Blue on him had to do 15 minutes of CPR for a plugged trach. For now he is still fairly sedated , his vent settings are better and it doesn't look like he has had any residual effects from the 15 min of CPR, neuro speaking I mean. Thank you all for the continued thoughts and prayers, Bev
