We will be featuring the wines of Tortoise Creek this Thursday night, and will have winemaker Mel Master on hand to pour and discuss his wines. Two red wines and two whites will be featured, his Carignan and Viognier from properties in the south of France, and his Zinfandel and Chardonnay from California. The tasting is free, and will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 pm, 1200 Bardstown Road. From the website:
"Mel and and his wife Janie produce wines from California and France called Tortoise Creek, after their home many years ago in Franc,e which was called Le riseau de Tortue. They are among our most popular value wines and have received many accolades from the wine press.
The wines are blended by Mel and Janie and come from small growers and wine makers who are making exceptional varietal wines - full of fruit, depth and character, representing amazing values. Most of the production of Tortoise Creek wines comes from sustainably grown vineyards where no pesticides are used and yields are kept low."
