I happened to find myself on the south end of town at lunch time today, so I decided to give Little Jerusalem a try.
They had gyro on the menu, but I thought I'd try the Shawarma. It was great! I ordered chicken, mostly loaded. This included the chicken in their special sauce wrapped in a huge warm pita, surrounded by hummus, tahini, lettuce, tomatoes and cucumbers, hold the onion, with pepperoncini-style peppers on the side.
In a word: Mmmmmmmmmm.
The photo at the top of this thread doesn't show the true scale of this thing. It was definitely a meal in itself, though they offer optional sides. And the flavor was very complex. Just middle eastern goodness that was totally enjoyable. With sweet tea, tax, tip and destination fee my cash outlay came to $12, which is a deal for what you get.
Service at Little Jerusalem was fast and friendly. They were pretty empty, considering it was prime lunch time on a Saturday. Hopefully, word about this place will spread and they will have the success that fresh, good food and good service at a place like this deserves.
