Ken, you are a sommelier and therefor a recognized expert at discerning complex characteristics of taste and articulating them. I don't question your expertise in any way. We're just talking personal preference here. I don't need any book or reviewer to tell me what I like. Sometimes I take their suggestions on what to try.
What I really like right now is the fricken Helles on cask at Bank St. I stopped in after work this evening and had a couple and I'm telling you if you miss this beer you're missing something special. This is a lager that drinks like an ale. It's got some tartiness balancing its 25IBUs and is altogether one of the most balanced delicious beers I've ever tasted. It reminds me of the Page 24 Biere De Printemps that I had at the Frenchman's beer dinner.
I've had about a dozen pints over four sessions and I can't wait to go get some more. I don't get this excited about a beer very often and I'd be interested in some other opinions if any of you get a chance to check it out. Cheers!
